TIDE MILL FARM

certified organic chicken

Edmunds, ME. Organic diet. No antibiotics, growth hormones or steroids. Birds are raised in barns with access to seasonal pasture. Tide Mill Organic Farm, with its sprawling barns and fertile fields, has been home and workplace to the same Maine family for 200 years. (That’s nine generations. We must love it here!)

We are Aaron, Carly, Hailey, Paige, Henry, and Ruth. We live a traditional way of life, in tune with tides and seasons, but modernized with cell phones, a web site, soccer practice, and a minivan. Our family is probably a lot like yours, just with more sizes of rubber boots.

Our days revolve around growing and producing organic meat, dairy, and vegetables, making a living and a life from the ground up.

Common Wealth Farm LLC

pastured, gmo-free chicken

Unity, ME. As a family-owned/operated business for the past 12 years, we strive to provide the highest quality poultry and game bird products by means of sustainable and humane practices. We use a mixture of organic and non-GMO food supplements for our broilers and turkeys and non-GMO food supplements for our pastured layers. Meat chickens are raised in brooders until mature enough to move outside into movable “tractors” which are moved every day to ensure the birds are eating fresh grass and clover. At about eight weeks, we process, air cool, and package our birds in our state-licensed, on-site facility. We have no antibiotics, fertilizers, animal by-products, hormones, or pesticides on the farm, and we are PFAS-free.

Fresh poultry is available May through November; frozen poultry and fresh chicken eggs are available year ‘round. Our world-class chicken is available only in Maine!

Bisson Farm, formerly Beechwood Dairy Farm, is a 3rd/4th/5th generation farm with deep roots in Topsham, Maine. In it’s current iteration, Bisson farm raises both beef and dairy cows, operates a Maine State Inspected slaughter facility, a custom butcher shop & smokehouse, and a full retail shop. The farm continues to be a pillar of their community, as well as an essential piece of what we do at Bleecker & Greer. They reliably deliver us cleanly processed beef, lamb, and pork each and every week.

The sliced bacon offered in our retail case is also made by the Bisson team.

Singing Pastures Farm

pork

Newcastle, ME. John Arbuckle is a 9th generation farmer. Through his own family stories, he came to understand that the way people farm changes every generation, often quite dramatically. Up until World War II, almost all family farms were chemical free. John and Holly chose to go back to raising animals like our ancestors, on green grass without growth stimulants, antibiotics, and GMOs.

The next generation is counting on us to do better. That's why our farm, Singing Pastures, raises animals in grassy fields using regenerative agriculture to heal the land.

The end result, delicious food that nourishes not only your health, but also the health of the Earth.

We farm the ancestral land of the Wawenock People of the Penobscot Tribe

Our Mission:   “Pasture to Plate”

We employ mindful management practices to provide healthful, nourishing, food for all people, and to care for the land that we farm in way that honors the people who came before us and made their home here.

Straw Farm

grain supplemented lamb

Newcastle, ME. Our farm has it's economic roots in a MOFGA Certified Organic herd of Jersey cows. Thirty-five girls are milked twice a day. Milk is shipped every other day to Horizon Organic and bottled here at home with the Straw Farm label for deliveries to stores in Midcoast and Southern Maine. Despite the twice daily ties of milking cows, Lee is more commonly known for his history as a shepherd. We have about 50 ewes that lamb each March at the farm, and another 100 ewes that lamb in May on an island in Penobscot bay.

Jackson Regenerational Farm

100% grassfed lamb

Meet the Jacksons! Nick and Sarah (Mahan) with Willa, Emily, Maverick, and the newest, Olin.

They know how challenging it can be to source ethically grown, regeneratively raised nourishing protein – that’s why they decided to start their farm many years ago!

As they journeyed through this understanding, they realized that animals on pasture is also how they are going to help regenerate the land that has been degenerating over many many years.  And as they believe that we as humans have the potential to heal our bodies with nutrition they also believe that the earth has everything it needs to heal with proper animal impact and management.

fine line Farm

pastured, gmo-free eggs

Searsmont, ME. Fine Line Farm is located on 90 acres of protected farmland.  We have 8 acres of crop land, 2 in orchard, 20 in pasture, and the remaining is a combination of woodland and bog. The land has been farmed on and off for over one hundred and fifty years- evidenced by our beautiful old timber framed barn, the stand of old apple trees and the stories we hear around town. There is a vernal pond in the pasture, a swimming/fishing pond, walking trails in the woods, and a river in the back. It’s a pretty wonderful place to call home.

Farm like you’ll live forever….. Everything we do is looking toward the future health of this land and making it a great place for whomever is here after us.

We are unconventionally grown- that means no herbicides, no pesticides, no fungicides, and no chemical fertilizers. Not now. Not ever. We grow some 200 varieties of fruits and vegetables while practicing a diverse and complex crop rotation with multiple cover crops to build soil, combat pests and produce great tasting food. Our 150 hens are rotated through the pasture and cover crops helping in pest control, adding fertility and producing eggs with rich yolks.

Black Earth Forest FARM

duck

We farm in Newcastle & Washington and offer our products at a variety of Maine locations.

Non-GMO duck eggs, Pasture-raised waterfowl, and 100% grass-fed lamb.

We aim to work with our land base to create vibrantly healthy flora and fauna that leaves a positive impact on the land.  Placing animals in their preferred environments provides a space for them to display their innate behaviors and helps us manage the farm ecosystem. We put health and happiness as our top priorities for all of the species that we work with.

Northeast Family Farms

beef

Northeast Family Farms is about creating a supply chain between the farmer and the chef.

For many local communities this may be the only way to preserve the rural landscape, enhance economic development, and enable current and future generations to stay on the farm, caring for their land and livestock.

Our foods are purchased directly from small-to-medium sized family-run farms throughout the Northeast. We pay a premium for all beef, lamb, veal, pork, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products from our farm partners. Our commitment is to provide these locally-raised products in a manner that compliments their menu or retail store applications.

At Bleecker & Greer, we source beef cuts from Northeast Family Farms to fill the demand that we simply can’t meet with our whole animal system. We feel this is the next best option to truly LOCAL.
